Musical Shakers

From this angle these may just look like a couple of fuzzy things so...

So here they are with Little 'Tedi 2. The outside is knitted in that horrendous to work with fuzzy wool, popped over one of hubbys painkiller pills bottles...sealed inside them with duct tape is a couple of teaspoons worth of dried pulses...one is barley and the other lentils. The dried beans against the plastic give a good maracas type of noise.

Little 'Tedi 2 has had a great time jumping about and shaking them, so i took one to Little Tedi 1s teacher at nursey school...and I'm not actually sure whether Little Tedi 2 or the teacher gave me the bigger excited expression LOL. One of the other teachers mentioned that they used to have a few things similar years ago that made different noises when they were shaken, some with sand, others with dried beans, shingle, pebbles etc. We aquire 3 plastic bottles every 4 months, so why not use them instead of flinging them out. Noisy things for nursery as we go :-)

Carrier Bag

Yup it's a carrier bag made of...carrier bags LOL

This is a LOT sturdier than the usual single bag the supermarkets give you these days tho...i have tested it with 2 bottles of a well known soft drink of the cola variety and it holds them perfectly without cutting off the circulation to the fingertips :-)

Plarn Peg Bag

This is about 40 carrierbags from a well known UK supermarket...now chopped into 1.5cm wide circular strips, ready to loop together into Plarn (plastic yarn)

And this is what i made with it...a Pegbag.

Good thing is, if you leave it out in the rain a good shake will dry it...unlike those usual fabric ones LOL

I cant remember exactly, but i think it was 18chain,worked both sides to give 36 sts, and 1/2DC (american dc) throughout, with a 1-2yr old clothes hanger at the top and edging the hole in SC (american sc)
